Mrs. Gilbert

Submitted by: Mariella

We love Mrs. Gilbert, Our son Stevie, was in here class, and she taught him so much, he didnt have any preschool, Our Daughter Alexis, is now in her class. Mrs. Gilbert, has a very upbeat, personality, and she told me, if learning is not really fun, the kids, will not learn, I believe this, because some teachers, can be old school, and the kids, feel uptight in that environment!!!!! Mrs. Gilbert, dedicates her life, to teaching, and it shows.

Mrs. O’Geare, 1st grade

Submitted by: Sophia

My son just started his first year at South Shore SDA School and I was truly excited to enroll him into this school because of the love I knew he would receive from his teachers. It’s a small school, 1st grade through 8th grade and only 19 students. Mrs. O’Geare teaches 1st through 4th grade and is out on maternity leave, Mrs. Guiterrez is standing in her place for a while. Mrs. O’Geare while having complications with her pregnancy, made sure she came to school before orientation and cleaned and prepared the school until the wee hours of the morning. She calls in everyday to check in, and her presence is there even though she is not. But her love is what amazes me! Her dedication and true desire to teach each child at his or her own level and prepare them for their present and future lives is such an awesome blessing! If there is anything that I could give, it would be to win this contest and help her with a few supplies that would greatly impact our small school. The k!
ids care so much and want to win a prize for their teacher, the whole school organized a day to wear red shirts and unite themselves into an apple! Thank You Mrs. O’Geare for loving us! We love you!

Ms. Rodarte, our US History teacher, strongly deserves to win this award. She gets up every morning for us and helps us even when we give her a difficult time. She is our hero and like every hero she has secret powers! She has patience, understanding, selflessness, intelligence, and is the most caring person ever. Ms.Rodarte accepts us, her students, as we are. Her main goal is to help us in whatever we need to reach success. We love that she listens to what we have to say and understands us. She always has the energy to teach us History and gives it her all. We don’t just see her as any other teacher ,we see her as a SUPER TEACHER! We love her! Our teacher ROCKS!!!

Mrs. Kentfield, Patriots Elem. School in Concord, NC

Submitted by: Collette Pendergrass

Mrs. Kentfield and her “helpers” ROCK at the new school, Patriots Elem. School in Concord, NC. As you can see I used puzzle pieces to decorate the apple that is because the teacher and helpers I am nominating teaches a Self Contained Autistic Classroom. Puzzle Pieces are the universal symbol for Autism Awareness. I am a mother of 2 autistic children and my daughter has Mrs. Kentfield this year as a 2nd grader, in a classroom containing 2nd to 5th graders. Mrs. Kentfield along with her classroom helpers chose autism. As a mother I had no choice, but they do, I am so very thankful that we have them to help our children connect to the world around them. It takes a HUGE amount of dedication, strength, hard work and LOVE to work with “our” children. They do all and this and more with smiles! Mrs. Kentfield is a first year teacher with four years of experience in another Self Contained Autistic Classroom before obtaining this classroom as head teacher. This is a brand!
new school in our school system. She not only ROCKS but she truly needs these supplies. Being a teacher for autism or any special needs sector is something that makes you a “Special Rock Star Teacher”!! Thank you Mrs. Kentfield and “helpers”!!

Mrs. Hale of Ward School in DuQuoin, Illinois

Submitted by: BrendaLea Abbott

I want to nominate my Grandson’s teacher, Mrs. Hale of Ward School in DuQuoin, Illinois for this prize. My Grandson has Aspergers, and she is so wonderful with him. She is patient and under standing and has really helped him grow by learning. It can be difficult to teach a child with Aspergers, she goes above and beyond to help him in his studies and I have seen a huge improvement in him, due to her teaching abilities, and her work with those that are challenged. These supplies would make a huge, wonderful impact on her class and a awesome award to a great teacher who is patient and giving every day with the kids that can bring daily challenges. Thank you for the chance to make her world easier as she has done my Grandson’s world.

Mrs. Templeton – 8th Grade, DuQuoin Middle School in DuQuoin, Illinois

Submitted by: Lynn Bryant

Mrs. Templeton – 8th Grade, DuQuoin Middle School in DuQuoin, Illinois – is the best, is what my Nephew said when I asked him about his favorite teacher. He said she makes the class fun, and makes him want to learn. The supplies would be a great way for him to tell her how much he likes her as a teacher. A great gift for any teacher, but for Mrs. Templeton it would allow her to keep some of her wages in her own pocket instead of using them to buy to supplies for her kids.

My mom! 7th grade language arts teacher

My mom is a 7th grade language arts teacher. I might be biased but hundreds of past students will say the same- she truly cares about them and goes above and beyond to help them be successful. I can vouch for the countless hours off the clock she puts in grading papers that she maybe didn’t have to assign, but knew they were necessary to help the kids truly master the English language. The kids know how much she cares about them and that makes all the difference to the student that is struggling and might otherwise give up. My mom never gives up. I wish I had her as my 7th grade teacher! Maybe I could tell you what a prepositional phrase is, then.
